Privacy Policy

AIVideoGist ("we", "us", "our") operates the website aivideogist.com and the related API service. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose your personal data when you use our service, and your rights regarding that data.

By using AIVideoGist, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

• Account Information: Email address, display name, and OAuth profile data (if you sign in with Google). Password is stored hashed (bcrypt).
• Usage Data: Task history (YouTube URLs submitted, upload metadata), credit transactions, processing timestamps.
• Payment Data: Billing is handled by Creem. We do not store credit card numbers. We receive subscription status and transaction IDs from Creem webhooks.
• Log Data: Cloudflare Workers and Pages may collect request logs (IP address, User-Agent, request path, timestamp). Logs are retained for up to 30 days and not linked to individual users.
• Uploaded Content: Audio/video files you upload for processing. These are stored temporarily in Cloudflare R2 and deleted immediately after transcription is complete (within minutes). We do not retain your media files.
• Transcripts & Summaries: Text output generated from your media is stored in your account history. You can delete individual results from your dashboard.

• To provide and improve our transcription and summarization service.
• To manage your account and process payments.
• To send transactional emails (registration confirmation, password reset) via Resend.
• To enforce our Terms of Service and prevent abuse.
• To generate anonymous usage statistics for product improvement.

We do not use your content to train AI models. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

We use the following sub-processors:

• Cloudflare (Workers, Pages, D1, R2) — Infrastructure hosting.Privacy Policy
• Deepgram — Speech-to-text transcription API. Audio URLs are sent to Deepgram for processing. See theirPrivacy Policy.
• DeepSeek — LLM for summary generation. Transcript text is sent to DeepSeek's API.Privacy Policy.
• Creem — Payment processing. Subject to Creem's terms.
• Resend — Transactional email delivery.Privacy Policy.
• Google OAuth 2.0 — Optional sign-in. We receive your email and profile name only.

We use a session cookie to keep you signed in (HTTP-only, Secure, SameSite=Lax). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.

• Media files: Deleted within minutes of processing completion.
• Transcripts & summaries: Retained until you delete them or close your account.
• Account data: Retained until account deletion request is fulfilled (max 30 days).
• Payment records: Retained for 7 years for tax/accounting compliance.

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Delete your account and associated data ("right to be forgotten").
• Port your data in a machine-readable format.
• Object to processing for certain purposes.
• Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is consent-based).

California residents may request disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the business purpose for collection, and categories of third parties we share it with. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data: HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit, encrypted secrets management via Cloudflare Secrets, bcrypt password hashing, and access controls.

No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

AIVideoGist is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us for immediate deletion.

Your data may be processed by sub-processors in the United States and other countries. We rely on Cloudflare's Standard Contractual Clauses for EU data transfers where applicable.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users by email of material changes. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
